/ Sally Fitzgibbons /
Four years old and with a bubble floaty strapped to her waist, Sally Fitzgibbons was given her first taste of surfing by her dad, Martin. He’d tow Sally, standing on a 9-foot Malibu, along the flat, shallow river which ran out to the ocean in Gerroa, on the South Coast of NSW. It wasn’t long before her competitive fire burned bright and she chased her three older brothers into the waves, onto the footy oval and into a lifestyle full of sport. But the ocean is where Sally found her greatest happiness and success. Sally was the youngest athlete to ever qualify for the elite surfing tour in 2008, and, now at 24 years old, has built a formidable reputation as the most consistent surfer on the World Surf League and being runner-up to the World Title three-times.
With nine World Tour victories, nothing better highlights Sally’s determination and courage than her 2015 Fiji Pro victory, beating the field despite suffering a painful and balance-impairing perforated eardrum. Hard work is built into Sally’s DNA and transcends beyond competition and into her focus on fitness, nutrition and well-being. Realising an opportunity to share her experience in living an holistic lifestyle with her fans, Sally put pen to paper with her first book Live Like Sally and in 2016 will launch Train Like Sally - The All Australian Beach Body app. The #livelikesally mantra couldn’t have paired better than with Piping Hot when Sally became a brand ambassador this year. We’re proud to be supporting her next goal: to win a World Title.
